The power of passion and commitment to belief. And personal truth. It drives us. It fuels us.

As a speaker and an #Oprah fan, I am riveted by her speech at the Golden Globes last night. This isn’t just a lesson in #speaking mechanics and technique; rather, it’s a lesson in the power of purpose to propel action, and create a “we”moment.

Call her “Hoprah”

She brought everyone into her cause – across industries, race, class, even gender. “Tip to the amazing men.” Oprah has always been a connector – her ability to empathize with others (and bring ppl together) is her forte.’

In this address, she speaks from the heart about a purpose bigger than herself, about her beliefs (she’s living proof of breaking barriers) and why now – this moment – is the time to change things for all women and men, too – she created the “we.” Oprah is a master of the “we.”

The Power of Purpose and Personal Truth

Not just about speaking; it’s how we bring people into our purpose – by speaking to hope and the desire for a better life and world. When you speak from your personal truth – there is no stopping you. #personaltruth Are you tapping into that optimism and hope?  *THAT* will propel your work and ability to connect with others who share that same vision.
